These homemade healthy chocolate gummies are a fantastic snack for both mama and bubbas! They’re the best gummies to make if you’re trying to get your little one on board with the texture and taste of homemade gummies. I mean, what toddler doesn’t love chocolate?!
When I first attempted gummies (just a fruit based one) Honey (then 3 years old) would say YUCK every time haha! The chocolate ones got her on board and now she’ll eat any flavour, especially when they’re shaped like unicorns. She even asks me to make them if there’s none in the fridge! And I’ve been adding gelatin to Olives food since she was a little bubba.
What makes These Chocolate Gummies a great snack is:
+ They’re Full of gut loving gelatin which aids digestion and seals the gut lining, strengthening gut health
+ Have healthy fats for brain development, the nervous system and sustained energy
+ Sugar free – sweetened with a little honey
+ A good source of protein
+ Free from gluten, dairy
You do need to use a good quality, grass-fed gelatin to get the benefits (not the gelatin from the supermarket). I like the Nutraorganics range.
If your little one doesn’t like them at first, grab some cute silicone moulds, get them involved with making them and keep offering!
(Great for sugar cravings and as an alternative to chocolate for us Mama’s ).
*These are not suitable for babies under 12 months old but you can find baby friendly gummy recipes here*.
